Here are two foto's I recently discovered on the internet.
The bottom one is from an unknown country, maybe Lebanon while
the other foto is absolutely in Afghanistan. Great waterpipes.

Nepalese fotoos

Het verzamelen van fotoos uit oude tijdschriften is een
leuke bezigheid, als je zit te bladeren in de National Geographic
is het net of je zelf een beetje op reis bent. Dit is Nepal,
de fotoos vertellen het verhaal zelf.

Beste bezoeker,
Andorra bestaat op Zondag 24 mei a.s. alweer 25 jaar.
We zullen deze dag in bescheiden sfeer vieren, helaas kunnen
we tegenwoordig niet meer zo uitpakken als vroeger maar dat
zal de pret natuurlijk niet drukken.

Vanaf 12.00 uur ; open voor publiek, met taart en koffie.

Van 16.00 uur tot 20.00 uur, Oud personeels VIP receptie.
Met veel oude foto's, muziek, een goed glas etc.

We hopen deze dag veel oude gezichten te zien,
tot dan !

Authentieke Rokers

In wat oude National Geographics kwam ik deze prachtige fotoos
tegen. De hookha roker is een Afghaan en staat in het nummer uit
September 1968, de Chillum roker komt uit Nepal en staat in het nummer
uit December 1993.

Snoop Doggy Dog in RTL Boulevard 12-02-2005

Het was januari 2005, dat ik terug kwam van een reis naar Indonesië.
Ik was op Lombok geweest en had daar van Bamboe een soort jointkokertje
laten maken. Een bamboe buisje met kikkertje of schildpadje als dop.
Je kon er een jointje in meenemen om de nek gedragen. Op alle exemplaren,
zo'n 250 geloof ik, had ik ANDORRA laten zetten. Iedereen die een of meer
joints kocht kreeg er toen zo'n dingetje bij. Dus toen de mensen van RTL
een joint voor Snoop Dog kwamen halen kregen ze er ook een omheen.
's Avonds belt Niels me op en zegt;"hey Moos, moet je eens kijken bij
RTL Boulevard zit Snoop Dog met zo'n Andorra kokertje om zijn nek."
Ik kon m'n ogen niet geloven maar toch was het waar, kijk maar naar deze
fotootjes, hopelijk komt het filmpje ook nog.

Jerry Samuels - I owe lot to Iowa pot, Real Free Press 1977

Dit is dan single No 3 uit de oude doos. De cover is ontworpen
door Joost Swarte voor de Real Free Press. In de 70's maakte
hij heel wat obscuur werk zoals dit omslagje. Het singletje
is tamelijk zeldzaam en gaat wat mij betreft vooral om de B-kant.
'Who are you to tell me not to smoke marijuana', de titel spreekt
reeds voor zich, een tikkeltje gedateerd maar toch leuk.

Harm Dost en de Snijplanken - Geef die joint es door, Border Records 1988

Tweede single uit de oude doos is deze. In 1988 maakte Harm Dost,
de beruchte Arnhemse hasjdealer, dit carnavals plaatje.
Harm was toen nogal in de belangstelling vanwege een omstreden
uitlevering aan Duitsland, zoiets staat me nog vaag bij althans.
Hij dacht daar met deze single toch nog een slaatje uit te slaan.
De B-kant is vreselijk maar die hoort er nu eenmaal bij.
